Arsenal vs Chelsea Football Preview and Predictions 2021

Arsenal vs Chelsea predictions for Sunday’s Premier League clash at the Emirates. Chelsea look to build on a promising start to the Premier League campaign when they visit Arsenal. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
Chelsea have won six of their last nine Premier League away games.
The Blues have kept a clean sheet in 20 of their 32 competitive matches under Thomas Tuchel.
Arsenal have only won two of their last five Premier League home games.
Chelsea have won six of their last eight Premier League matches.
The last Premier League clash between this pair had under 2.5 goals but seven of the previous nine meetings went over.

Toothless Arsenal fail to impress
Many fans expected the newly promoted Brentford to give Arsenal a good game in the Premier League opener last Friday but few expected Arsenal to be quite as lacklustre as they were at the Brentford Community Stadium.

Mikel Arteta’s Gunners limped to a 2-0 defeat to the underdogs despite having 65% of the ball. As is often the case with Arsenal, they failed to do much useful with the ball and ended up mustering just four shots on target in the deserved defeat.

Arsenal have since completed the purchase of Martin Odegaard in an attempt to inject some creativity into the side, but even if he is ready to play on Sunday that’s unlikely to stop Chelsea claiming the three points.

Blues prepare for title charge
Thomas Tuchel’s side walked out comfortable 3-0 winners over Crystal Palace last weekend and never looked in danger of conceding to the toothless visitors. They barely allowed Palace a kick of the ball as they strolled to a 12th Premier League win under the German manager.

This Chelsea squad under this manager look more than capable of putting in a sustained title challenge this season and the arrival of Romelu Lukaku strengthens that prospect even more.

Crucial win expected for Chelsea
The Blues have won six of their last nine Premier League away days and I expect them to add another three points to their tally here. Arsenal looked very poor against Brentford and I can’t see them dealing with the threat of Chelsea, especially with them winning five of their seven competitive meetings with the so-called Big Six since Tuchel’s arrival.

Chelsea have kept a clean sheet in 20 of their 32 competitive games under their current manager as well, so a repeat of the 2-0 loss suffered by Arsenal last weekend is my choice for a correct score prediction.

Arsenal predicted lineup: Leno; White, Holding, Mari; Soares, Lokonga, Xhaka, Tierney; Saka, Rowe, Pepe

Chelsea predicted lineup: Mendy; Chalobah, Christensen, Rudiger; Azpilicueta, Kante, Jorginho, Alonso; Havertz, Mount; Lukaku
