Bernardo Silva will PLEAD with Guardiola to let him leave Man City for Barcelona

Bernardo Silva is reportedly set for 'showdown talks' with Pep Guardiola as he looks to force through a move to Barcelona.

The Portuguese midfielder wants to leave City this summer and has his heart set on moving to LaLiga.

City are expected to grant Silva his wish should their valuation be met with the 26-year-old falling down the pecking order after Jack Grealish's £100m arrival.

According to The Sun, Silva will plead with Guardiola to let him join Barcelona on a cut-price deal.

City are holding out for at least £45m, but cash-strapped Barcelona faced being priced out.

Silva's agent Jorge Mendes is already in negotiations with Barcelona, but nothing has yet been agreed.

The Catalan giants will unlikely be able to afford the £45m City are demanding but have freed up some funds following the departure of huge earner Lionel Messi.

Silva, who joined City back in 2017 for £43m, played 45 times last season to help City win the Premier League and Carabao Cup.

Atletico Madrid have also been linked with a possible move for the Portugal international this summer.
