Porto lost just twice last season but came up short by finishing second overall

Belenenses have scored just six goals in the last 10 games between these sides, with Porto netting 22 times.

Porto have title bid on their minds
Porto come into the new Primeira Liga season with the disappointment of their second place finish last season. They saw their bitter rivals, Sporting Lisbon, lift the trophy instead and the side will be fully motivated to come out firing in their first game of the season. The side are unbeaten in the league since the end of October 2020 and they are heavy favourites coming into this match with the side scoring 74 goals last season and conceding just 29 times.

Belenenses 10th place finish last season looks impressive at first glance but if you look a little deeper you can see that the side were a little lucky at points with just nine wins all season and only six points separating them from the bottom three. They gained a midtable finish mainly through their impressive defence, which only conceded 35 goals in 34 games but their attack will need to improve drastically this season with the visitors this weekend netting just 25 times in the 2020/21 season.

This match looks as though it only really has one outcome with Porto the red hot favourites, so much so that the value in backing the home side is all but gone. There does look to be plenty of value in backing the hosts to win to nil though, with Belenenses’ awful goal record indicating it could be a long game for their front line. We don’t think a rout is on the cards but this should be a comfortable enough win for Porto and we’re backing them to pick up a comprehensive 3-0 win for the home side.
