Kanye West hails Lionel Messi in lyrics of new album track

Kanye West eventually released his new album titled Donda this week.

However, what must've caught the attention of football fans is the mention of Lionel Messi while rapping along to one of the tracks on the album.

"I talk to God every day, he is my best friend. They play soccer (football) in my backyard, I think I see Messi," Kanye West was heard rapping at the album presentation event - drawing loud cheers from the audience.

Messi's popularity obviously cuts across entertainment borders, as can be seen.

The 34-year-old is Barcelona and La Liga's greatest scorer, a feat he achieved during his 21 years in Catalonia.
