Lautaro Martinez's agent stands firm on the Argentine's desire to stay at Inter

Lautaro Martinez's agent has doubled down on the player's commitment to Inter Milan this season - insisting the forward will do 'everything possible' to stay with the Italian champions.

The Argentine has been strongly linked with a move to north London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal in this window as the Nerazzurri struggle with a difficult financial situation as a result of the pandemic - already being forced to sell star man Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea for £98million, while Achraf Hakimi joined PSG for £50m.

Sportsmail reported last weekend that Tottenham agreed a £60million deal with the Serie A side for their star frontman, while Arsenal have also been linked, but agent Alejandro Camano sought to shut down the possibility of a deal last week, saying: 'His decision is to stay'.

Losing Martinez would leave Inter short on bodies up front - and now Camano has reiterated once again that the player has no desire to leave.

'He wants to win the Scudetto again with Inter, play a good Champions League with the Nerazzurri and, as I said before, he doesn't think at all about leaving Italy,' Alejandro Camano, Martinez's agent told FCInterNews, via Goal.

'We will do everything possible to stay with the Nerazzurri. Martinez is very happy in Milan, he has an excellent relationship with his team-mates and with the new coach. He listened to many offers, but never took any of them seriously. He believes - and we believe - that there is still life at Inter.'

Inter are in desperate need of funds and are reportedly looking to cash in on a few more players. Their dire financial situation has already seen Antonio Conte quit as manager - with fans left fuming at owner Steven Zhang over the deterioration of the club since their Scudetto win in May.

But Martinez is not concerned about the money situation at the club, Camano added, and said he was simply focused on playing football.

'Lautaro is not talking about money, but about football and playing,' he said. 'Money is up to your agent. At most, Martinez can say how happy he is in Milan and the team.'

Martinez has proven himself to be of of the hottest properties in Serie A in recent seasons and played a key role in Inter winning their first title since 2011 - scoring 17 Serie A goals last term.

The 23-year-old, who has also been subject of interest from Barcelona in recent years, has been in Milan since moving from Argentine side Racing in 2018 and has a total of 49 goals from 132 appearances.
