Seven of Manchester United’s last nine Premier League games have produced at least three goals.
Manchester United averaged 1.92 goals per game in the top-flight last season.
Mason Greenwood has scored six goals in his last eight Premier League appearances.
Three of Leeds’s last four Premier League games have produced over 3.5 goals.
Manchester United conceded at least one goal in 15 of their 21 league wins last season.

Packed Ole Trafford to give hosts a boost
Old rivals Manchester United and Leeds will take to the pitch in front of a packed Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon and I expect the home crowd could be in for a treat in their Premier League curtain raiser.

Manchester United looked up for it in front of 55,000 fans as they thrashed Everton 4-0 in a pre-season friendly last weekend and while they did suffer a poor end to last season the return of spectators for such a high-profile match is sure to spur them on.

Lilywhites set to build on impressive season
Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds will be no less enthusiastic, though, as they look to build on a fantastic first season back in the big time where they managed a ninth-place finish.

They ended up just three points shy of European qualification a run of four straight victories saw the Lilywhites end the campaign on a high, although three defeats and two draws from their last five pre-season games is a slight concern for the visiting fans.

Goals on the cards on Saturday
What we can expect – as always from Leeds – is an intense and attack-minded approach. Their top-flight games last season featured a total of 116 goals and that tally was better only by Leicester (118) and Manchester United (117).

Eight of those goals came in their 6-2 thriller at Old Trafford in December and while I’m not expecting quite such an entertaining affair this time around there should still be plenty of goalscoring opportunities to enjoy.

Seven of Manchester United’s last nine Premier League games last season featured at least three goals and Leeds United’s last four outings produced 14 goals in total so backing over 2.5 goals is my best bet heading into Saturday.

Greenwood to fire Red Devils to victory
With Edinson Cavani on an extended break, Marcus Rashford injured and Jadon Sancho only returning to training this week, preference in the anytime goalscorer market leans towards Mason Greenwood.

The youngster – unlike many of his teammates – has had the summer off and he scored six goals in his last eight league appearances last season. Well-rested and eager to impress, Greenwood can fire Manchester United to victory on Saturday, with a 2-1 correct score prediction also appealing after the hosts averaged 1.92 goals per game last season.

Manchester United predicted lineup: De Gea / Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw / Matic, Fernandes, Pogba / Greenwood, Martial, James

Leeds United predicted lineup: Meslier / Ayling, Struijk, Cooper, Dallas / Raphinha, Rodrigo, Koch, Klich, Harrison / Bamford
