PSG can maintain Strasbourg dominance
Paris Saint-Germain take on Strasbourg on Saturday in their first fixture since sealing the transfer of the summer by bringing Lionel Messi to the French capital.

However, it looks as if the PSG fans will have to wait a little while longer before they see the former Barcelona star in action at the Parc des Princes after he took time off following Argentina’s Copa America success – with a trip to Reims on August 29 pencilled in as his likely debut date.

PSG opened their season with a 1-0 defeat to Lille in the Trophee des Champions and were then given a scare at promoted Troyes in their Ligue 1 curtain raiser.

Troyes took an early lead but two goals in two minutes turned the game around, although PSG were left clinging on to a 2-1 lead at the end as Troyes pushed for an equaliser.

The French giants should have an easier time of it against Strasbourg, who lost 2-0 at home to Angers in the opening round of fixtures.

PSG won their final three home fixtures in Ligue 1 last season and the arrival of Messi should provide a huge boost even if he isn’t involved at the weekend.

The Parisian outfit won the corresponding fixture 4-0 last season and beat Strasbourg 4-1 in the away fixture.  PSG are yet to hit their stride this season but we feel they can beat a -1 handicap and a 3-0 home win stands out in the correct score market, while Mauro Icardi stands out as an anytime scorer after he opened his account against Troyes after a productive pre-season where he managed three goals in five games.
