Udinese 2-2 Juventus: Cristiano Ronaldo has a late winner ruled out for offside

Cristiano Ronaldo had a last-gasp winner for Juventus ruled out for offside - after he was left out of the starting XI.

Match Report

The 36-year-old has a year left on his contract and asked manager Massimiliano Allegri to be benched as speculation continues to swirl about his future after it emerged earlier this week that he had been offered to Manchester City.

Ronaldo's team-mates showed they can do fine without him early on, with Paulo Dybala arriving in the box to tuck home Rodrigo Bentancur's centre on three minutes.

Juan Cuadrado then doubled the visitors' advantage midway through the first half, with Dybala turning provider to fire an inch-perfect pass over the top of the home defence.

The Colombian collected it on the right wing and after driving into the box and beating Bram Nuytinck, he fired beyond Marco Silvestri into the far corner.

Udinese then halved the deficit just after the break after Wojciech Szczesny brought down Tolgay Arslan in the box after the goalkeeper failed to hold the midfielder's shot, with former Watford man Roberto Pereyra tucked home the penalty.

Alvaro Morata hit the woodwork three minutes later, with the Spaniard coming off for Ronaldo on the hour mark, with Bentancur also seeing an effort come off the upright.

Gerard Deulofeu then put the cat amongst the pigeons with six minutes of normal time remaining before more late drama as Ronaldo had his effort chalked off and was booked for taking his shirt off in celebration as Luca Gotti's men held on for an impressive point.
