West Ham United vs Leicester City Football Preview and Predictions 2021

West Ham United vs Leicester City predictions for Monday’s Premier League clash at the London Stadium. Two of last season’s top six face off looking to build on their opening victory. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Leicester’s last seven Premier League away games have seen BTTS land
West Ham have scored 94 goals in 58 matches in David Moyes’ second reign

Back goals at London Stadium
In a weekend which just saw Arsenal facing Chelsea, it’s odd that Leicester against West Ham is the only encounter between two of last season’s top six. Both will be hoping to kick on from a great campaign last term, with Leicester aiming to finally make it back into the top four.

Both sides pack a real attacking threat, something West Ham showed in their 4-2 victory at Newcastle last weekend. The Hammers have scored 94 goals in their 58 league games now under David Moyes, the fifth-highest in that time.

Meanwhile, Leicester have beaten Man City and Wolves already this term and they had one of the best away records in the league last term. The Foxes’ last seven away Premier League games have seen both teams score and I see this one going the same way.

Bowen the Fox hunter
There are plenty of good attacking options on both sides, with Michail Antonio looking to become West Ham’s leading Premier League scorer. Kelechi Iheanacho has four goals in four against the Hammers, but he’s unlikely to start on Monday night.

That has us looking at a different option in our anytime goalscorer prediction. Jarrod Bowen chipped in with eight Premier League goals last term and he scored two of those against Leicester. Bowen struck home and away against the Foxes last term.

Bowen had an xG of 0.43 from two efforts at Newcastle and we’re backing him to convert on Monday.

Hammers to edge this one
West Ham have the league’s best attacking record outside of City, Liverpool, Chelsea and United under Moyes and his side are a match for anyone outside of that group. That was clear in their results last season, as outside of clashes with the top four West Ham’s record was 19 wins and seven draws in 30 games.

That includes home and away wins against Leicester and we think the Hammers are the value to edge this one. Moyes has led his side to three straight Premier League wins so a 2-1 victory for the hosts is our correct score prediction.

West Ham predicted lineup: Fabianski; Coufal, Dawson, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Soucek, Rice; Bowen, Fornals, Benrahma; Antonio

Leicester predicted lineup: Schmeichel; Pereira, Vestergaard, Soyuncu, Thomas; Ndidi, Tielemans; Perez, Maddison, Barnes; Vardy
