Arsenal set to offer Alexandre Lacazette to Sevilla to sign Youssef En-Nesyri

Arsenal will reportedly consider using Alexandre Lacazette as a makeweight in a deal for Sevilla's Youssef En-Nesyri in January.

Mikel Arteta wants to sign the Morocco striker, who has scored 33 goals in 85 games since joining Sevilla, but the LaLiga side are said to value him at £38.5million.

However, Spanish newspaper La Razon claim Arsenal could try to negotiate a swap deal, with Sevilla eyeing a move for Lacazette.

Arteta has already brought in a number of young players including Martin Odegaard, Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale and is keen to continue his rebuild.

En-Nesyri scored 18 goals in LaLiga last season and already has three in six games this term.

He is contracted with the Spanish side until 2025, meaning they are not under pressure to sell.

Lacazette has played 31 minutes of Premier League football this season.

The Frenchman missed the first two games of the campaign after testing positive for Covid-19 and has been an unsused substitue for the Gunners' last three matches.

The 30-year-old is out of contract in the summer and Arsenal risk losing him on a free transfer if they are unable to agree a new contract or get a fee for him in January.

The forward is also able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs at the start of next year.

If Arsenal do manage to sign En-Nesyri in January, they will see him depart for the African Cup of Nations in the same month.
