Barcelona right back Sergino Dest suffers injury on international duty

Barcelona were dealt a blow on Monday morning when it was revealed Sergino Dest has suffered a foot injury while playing for the United States in the World Cup Qualifiers.

Dest was subbed off in the 44th minute of the 1-1 draw.

It was later revealed by the USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter that Dest had sprained his ankle during the heated encounter against Canada.

The 20-year-old is now expected to return to Barcelona to continue his recovery.

With Barca offloading Emerson Royal in the summer, midfielder Sergi Roberto is now the club's main backup at right-back.
