Four talking point that proves Frenkie De Jong is Barca's most influential player right now

Frenkie de Jong emerged as e360hubs most influential player in Barcelona in a recent ranking.

The Dutchman wasn't selected at face value. Here are 4 facts detailing our choice of the lanky midfielder.

1. Durability
Playing at the top level takes a toll on even the best players. Still, Frenkie seems to be gliding through the challenge like a duck on water.

It's been noticed that the 24-year-old rarely gets injured since joining Barca over 2 years ago.

In fact, the lanky playmaker has only missed 7 games for Barca through injury since moving to Camp Nou in 2019.

2. Versatility
De Jong is one player you can count on to play anywhere in midfield. He can do a superb job as an attacking midfielder or as a defensive enforcer.

What's even more interesting is that he can play in defense too. It's true that many Barca fans do not like the idea of seeing him play at the back, but we have to give him credit for being able to do that in the first place.

Perhaps we could see him play as a centre-forward one day. Anyway, De Jong's versatility remains unquestionable.

3. Consistency
De Jong has played 96 games since putting pen to paper for Barcelona from Ajax. Despite that many appearances, it's difficult to remember him having a bad game in a Barca shirt.

His efficiency has been a big weapon for the Blaugrana. Take an example with the game against Bilbao this season - while other Barca players struggled to cope with the physicality of their opponents from the Basque Country, De Jong shone - making 4 key passes, a pre assist and 95% pass accuracy.

4. Cheerful nature
De Jong attracts nothing but admiration from his teammates with his easy-going demeanour. Such a cheerful guy.

His smile is arguably among the most disarming we've seen at Barcelona since Ronaldinho left.

Perhaps he could become Barca's captain in the future. He's already leading the team in midfield in Busquet's absence.
