Joan Laporta confirms UEFA can't stop Super League project

"The project is alive. The three clubs who are defending the project are winning all the court cases," Barcelona president Joan Laporta told the TV channel Esport 3 about the Super League.

"UEFA cannot stop it, and the pressure on English clubs, who were those behind the plans, hasn’t had any effect. Granted, it could have been presented in a better way."

Out of 12 clubs that announced the forming of the Super League back in April, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus are the only clubs that have remained committed to the project beyond 48 hours of its official existence.

The other nine clubs, including the Premier League's 'big six' have signed agreements with UEFA that would prohibit them from taking part in similar breakaway projects - but even then, the idea does not seem to be going away.
