Kimmich speak highly of Guardiola: He showed me space that didn't exist for me before on the pitch
Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich spoke highly of the influence Pep Guardiola had on his development as a player during their time at Allianz Arena.
"I was very young with Pep Guardiola. I was 20 years old and came from the 2nd division," the German told El Pais.
"He showed me positions in which I had never played before and in which I didn't even know I could play. And he showed me spaces on the pitch that didn't exist for me before."
The 26-year-old is now a stalwart with both Bayern Munich and the Germany national team and won all there is to win at the club level.
There's a chance that he'll face his former mentor this season - but only if both Bayern and Man City progress out of the group stage in the Champions League which is quite plausible.
