Pique defend Roberto after being jeered at Camp Nou: He is not a full-back

"I'd like to remind people he's not a full-back," Gerard Pique said of Sergi Roberto after the defeat to Bayern.

"He's making a huge sacrifice playing there. People are free to have their own opinions but that jeering really hurt me personally.

"Sergi, is a spectacular human being and loves this club more than anything," Pique added.

Roberto was whistled by Barcelona supporters at Camp Nou during Barcelona's 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

With Sergino Dest struggling with fitness, the Spaniard was started as a right-wingback during the game and barely put a foot right.

However, the 29-year-old was not the only player who performed below par on Tuesday. The likes of Luuk de Jong and Memphis Depay failed to combine in the attack and Barca failed to register a shot on target during the game.
