Chelsea GK Edouard Mendy finally reacts to Ballon d'Or snub

After an impressive performance and win ing the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea Mendy was snub from the list of Ballon d'Or contendent.

Speaking to Canal+, Edouard Mendy said: "Do I think it’s an injustice? No, I wouldn't use that word.

"It's something that motivates me to go forward, to work and be performant at club level and with my country.

"And as I said before, it [the voting] is the journalists' freedom of vote and expression, and they vote honourably and conscientiously.

Mendy, who played a key role in Chelsea's 2020/21 Champions League-winnign campaign, is absent from the final list of 30 Ballon d'Or nominees.

Several players, including Liverpool's Sadio Mane and Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly, have accused France Football of anti-black bias over the snub.
