Chelsea roster includes a 'world-class' player, according to Loftus-Cheek.

Following his superb performance in Chelsea's Premier League 1-0 win over Brentford at the weekend, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has lauded teammate Edouard Mendy as a "world-class" player. 

Chelsea defeated Brentford in an away Premier League tie, thanks to Ben Chilwell's only goal of the game. Mendy was named Man-of-the-Match. 

"Eddie in goal, (laughs) he's rescued us a few occasions, but that's what these great keepers do, the guy is world-class," Loftus-Cheek said after the game in his post-match press conference. 

"On another day, we might score a couple more goals, but the most important thing is that we get three points."

When Thomas Tuchel's side hosts Malmo in the Champions League on Wednesday, Mendy will be hoping to keep up his good form. 

Under Frank Lampard's management, the Senegalese international joined Chelsea from Rennes last year.
