For the first time, all 15 players have been nominated for the Ballon d'Or in 2021.

At least 15 players have been nominated for the first time in their careers for the Ballon D'Or.

Prior to this year's event, the organizers announced a 30-man shortlist last week.

Half of those selected had never been nominated for one of football's most prestigious individual awards.

They are: Cesar Azpilicueta (Spain/Chelsea)
Nicolo Barella (Italy/Inter Milan)
Giorgio Chiellini (Italy/Juventus)
Ruben Dias (Portugal/Manchester City)
Gianluigi Donnarumma (Italy/Paris Saint-Germain)
Bruno Fernandes (Portugal/Manchester United)
Phil Foden (England/Manchester City)
Erling Haaland (Norway/Borussia Dortmund)
Jorginho (Italy/Chelsea)
Simon Kjaer (Denmark/AC Milan)
Romelu Lukaku (Belgium/Chelsea)
Lautaro Martinez (Argentina/Inter Milan)
Gerard Moreno (Spain/Villarreal)
Mason Mount (England/Chelsea)
Pedri (Spain/Barcelona)

For years to come, some of these players will be regulars among the Ballon d'Or nominees.

Others, on the other hand, may consider this to be the pinnacle of their careers.

Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain is the favorite to win the award when it is presented on November 29.
