Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has stated that Harry Maguire, the club's centre-back, is not overvalued.

This was expressed by Neville in response to Maguire's performance in Man United's Premier League 4-2 loss to Leicester City over the weekend.

Remember when Maguire injured his calf in Man United's loss to Aston Villa last month?

In addition to England's World Cup qualifiers, the England international missed Man United's matches against Villarreal and Everton.

Maguire, on the other hand, was a surprise inclusion in Saturday's match against his former team Leicester at the King Power Stadium.

Because Raphael Varane was ruled out due to injury, the Man United captain started alongside Victor Lindelof.

The Foxes upset Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team at home, and his performance was not good enough.

Maguire, on the other hand, was not ready to play for Man United against Leicester, according to Nevilles.

"Is Maguire overrated?" No, Maguire is a terrific player," he remarked live on Instagram.

"Maguire wasn't ready yesterday, and he wasn't close to being ready for that game." I believe he was pushed back in because to Varane's injury. Maguire had a good day yesterday.

But I believe he is the right type of player, and Manchester United could use more of him. Maguire isn't up to the task? If we're suddenly saying Harry Maguire isn't the appropriate type of signing, we're on the wrong track.

Harry Maguire, in my opinion, is the ideal type of character for United. Since his arrival at the club, I believe he has done admirably.

"He was miles off it yesterday, he wasn't even close to being at the level in terms of fitness, and we've all been there as players."

"However, now is not the time to start throwing out the baby with the bathwater.
