Giroud explains why Arsenal will not finish in the top four in the Premier League.

Olivier Giroud, a former Arsenal striker, believes the Gunners' restricted financial power will prevent them from finishing in the top four.

Mikel Arteta spent about £150 million for Ben White, Martin Odegaard, Nuno Tavares, and Takehiro Tomiyasu this summer.

Arsenal finished outside of the European places for the first time in 25 years last season.

Arteta is expecting that his additions would help the squad qualify for the Champions League this season, but Giroud believes that Arteta will need more time to get them back into the top four.

“Wow, that's a good question!” Giroud said when asked how long it will take Arsenal to finish in the top four again. Mikel Arteta, I believe, has time to return to the top four

However, there are situations when money plays a significant role in success.

"When you see Chelsea spend almost £80 million (£97.5 million) on Romelu Lukaku to reinforce the forward line after winning the Champions League the year before, I believe money plays a big role."

"With Arsenal, that's the problem. Perhaps they don't put forth as much effort as their competitors.
