Lewandowski is favored to win the Ballon d'Or in 2021, ahead of Messi and Jorginho.

Julian Nagelsmann, the manager of Bayern Munich, believes Robert Lewandowski will win the Ballon d'Or this year.

Nagelsmann made his selection ahead of Saturday's top-of-the-table encounter with Bayer Leverkusen.

"Robert deserves to win it," Nagelsmann told the Munich newspaper Abendzeitung. "In my opinion, he has been more unbelievably consistent than any other player."

"He's so dynamic; he doesn't get hurt and can put in a lot of work." I believe he will be able to continue playing at the highest level for a few more years.

After winning FIFA's rival award for men's player of the year in 2020, Lewandowski is looking to earn his first Ballon d'Or next month.

The 33-year-old is up against Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Jorginho, and N'Golo Kante for the award.

Lewandowski is presently joint first in the Bundesliga scoring statistics, alongside Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland, and just ahead of Leverkusen's Patrik Schick, with seven goals already this season.

For the first time since 2019, he has failed to score in back-to-back Bundesliga games.
