Manchester City vs Crystal Palace Prediction, Preview and Live Streaming 2021

Manchester City vs Crystal Palace predictions for Saturday’s Premier League tie at the Etihad. Crystal Palace look to pull off an upset when they visit Manchester City.

Team News
City continue to cope without Ferran Torres as he works his way back from a foot fracture, but Guardiola otherwise has no fresh injury concerns to work around for this contest.

The likes of Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte and Joao Cancelo are all set for recalls to the first XI, although next week's crunch matches with Club Brugge and Manchester United must be taken into account here.

Mahrez and Raheem Sterling should drop to the bench as Gabriel Jesus and Jack Grealish return out wide, with Foden continuing as the focal point of attack after his strong showing at the Amex.

As for Palace, long-term victims Eberechi Eze and Nathan Ferguson are making progress in their recoveries but are not ready to return just yet, and the visitors did not report any further issues from the draw with Newcastle.

Wilfried Zaha took his spot on the bench for that encounter after recovering from illness - with Michael Olise earning a deserved start in his place - but the Ivorian should certainly make the first XI this time.

There should be no further surprises in the Eagles' XI, with Conor Gallagher holding his spot in the engine room alongside James McArthur and Luka Milivojevic.

Manchester City possible starting lineup:
Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo; Silva, Rodri, De Bruyne; Jesus, Foden, Grealish

Crystal Palace possible starting lineup:
Guaita; Ward, Andersen, Guehi, Mitchell; McArthur, Milivojevic, Gallagher; Edouard, Benteke, Zaha

Preview
  • Manchester City have won four of their last five Premier League home games and haven’t conceded a single goal in the process.
  • Crystal Palace have already lost 3-0 away to Liverpool and Chelsea this season.
  • All three of the Eagles’ losses this season have been to nil and away from home.
City look to bounce back after midweek loss
Manchester City were knocked out of the Carabao Cup for the first time since 2016 in midweek but Pep Guardiola’s stars have more than enough to bounce back with a win at the Etihad on Saturday.

Their 4-1 thrashing of Brighton last weekend made it eight games without defeat in the Premier League and they have won five of their six competitive home games this season. Crystal Palace may be improving under Patrick Vieira but they have a long way to go before they can match Saturday’s hosts.

Improving Palace still struggle on the road
The Eagles played out their fourth consecutive Premier League draw against Newcastle last weekend and the early signs suggest that the gamble on Vieira will pay off, but they have already been exposed by the top teams in the Premier League and there is little to suggest they can pull off an upset at the Etihad.

All three of Palace’s defeats this season have come away from home and they have failed to score in each of those, which includes two 3-0 losses to Chelsea and Liverpool.

Comfortable win for home side on the cards
Manchester City are yet to concede a league goal on home soil this season and have scored 12 goals across these four matches. Their only failure in this period is a goalless draw against Southampton but on Saturday they face a visiting side that have conceded 11 times in five competitive away games.

Backing Manchester City to win to nil is my preference given Crystal Palace’s previous trips to the top teams, and I’m also opting for a third 3-0 defeat of the season away from home as my correct score prediction.
