'No untouchable this year,' says Arsene Wenger of the Ballon d'Or winner.

Arsene Wenger, the former Arsenal manager, has backed Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema to win the Ballon d'Or this year. Wenger believes Benzema has a strong chance to win the Ballon d'Or in 2021 based on his individual form and consistency.

Benzema, he claims, is at the top of his game, and that there is no untouchable this year.

Benzema was been named one of the 30-man nominees for the 2021 Ballon d'Or.

The France international will compete for the Ballon d'Or this year against Lionel Messi of PSG, Jorginho of Chelsea, Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich, Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United, and others.

This year, the 33-year-old led France to victory in the UEFA Nations League.

"This year, there are no untouchables." "Benzema is at the top level in terms of individual performance and consistency," Wenger told Telefoot.

"The question is whether the weight of the awards plays a significant influence."

On November 29, the winner of this year's Ballon d'Or will be announced.
