Why will Conte not succeed Solskjaer at Manchester United?

Gary Neville, a former Manchester United captain, has outlined why the club will not replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Antonio Conte.

Man United tumbled out of the top four on Saturday after a 4-2 defeat to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, putting Solskjaer's job at Old Trafford in jeopardy.

His teams have lost their last three Premier League games, with rumours associating Conte, a former Chelsea and Inter Milan coach, with the job of replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Despite the loss to Leicester, Neville does not feel Solskjaer's job at Man United is in jeopardy and dismisses links with Conte, who is presently a free agent.

"I don't think Conte will be the manager at Manchester United," Neville stated on Instagram Live on Sunday.

“I don't think they'll choose that option,” says the author. He's a fantastic manager, but I believe that certain managers are better suited to specific clubs, and Conte is not one of them.

"Great management, but it doesn't feel right for me," she says.

"I'm not for handing someone a squad," Neville said in response to a viewer's suggestion that Conte would win the title if given the appropriate squad at Man United. That's what we tried with Jose [Mourinho].

"Give Jose a squad and we'll win the league," he said. "We didn't [win the league], and in the end, it was a shambles, and everyone wanted him out."
