Onyedika Happy, Proud, Grateful With New Deal At FC Midtjylland

FC Midtjylland of Denmark fast-rising midfielder, Raphael Onyedika has stated sheer delight with the new deal granted him by the club, saying it makes him happy, proud and grateful, megasportsarena.com reports.

It is another step forward by the youngster, who is the latest Nigerian lad to make waves with The Wolves, which produced Ebenezer Oluwafemi Ajilore, Hakeem Agbetu, Babajide Collins and Paul Ebere Onuachu, among many others.

He went on to declare that he is now looking up better days ahead of him with the Henning-based side, which he described as the best base for his growth in the round leather game.

The bubbling lad added that he wants to make the best of his new long-term contract, which is due reward for his ascent into FCM’s first team this season and his growing status in the Danish Superliga side.

As the former FC Ebedei of Shagamu ace settles down to enjoy the new deal that is expected to run until 2026, the 20-year-old Onyedika now aims to consolidate being named Young Player of the Month for October in the Superliga.

In the first four months of this season, he has appeared in 24 matches, missing only one game against Kjellerup IF in the third round of the Sydbank Pokalen and scored his first goal for FCM against Celtic of Scotland in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.

Onyedika, who opened his Superliga account in a 3-1 win over Randers, told the club’s website: “It feels really good to sign a new contract in FC Midtjylland.

“I’m happy and proud of that, but most of all I’m grateful for the club and all that they have done for me in recent years. I would like to pay that back by helping the team in every match.”
