Rohr Expects Super Eagles To Score Many Goals Against Liberia

Super Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr has hinted that his team will score lots of goals against Liberia in this Saturday’s World Cup qualifier, e360hubs.com reports.

The Franco-German tactician stated as much after putting his players through the paces at the start of full training in Tangier, Morocco, where the match will be played.

Nigeria lead Group C with nine points, two ahead of second-placed Cape Verde and they go into the match against Liberia knowing that a win in Tangier could edge them closer to the final play-off game to Qatar 2022.

Heading into the penultimate game of the qualifiers, the former Bayern Munich of Germany defender, who also previously coached Girondins-Bordeaux of France, one the clubs he played for in his active days, is expecting a wide-margin victory on Saturday (kick-off 4pm Nigeria time).

With almost all his players on ground as at Wednesday evening, Rohr lined the squad out at the match venue, Stade Grand de Tanger, and concluded with an enthusiastic note that they look sharp and ready to flow.

The former Niger Republic, Burkina Faso and Gabon gaffer pointed out that his lads rained goals during their first training session on grass, hence the enthusiasm and confidence they gave him early that they will hit target pretty well on Saturday.

Rohr stated:  “We had a good feeling with the players, some of them played two days ago and traveled so we have to be careful for the injuries.

“Everything went well, we had some good goals. I saw we had some shooting exercises. The week is starting well.

“It is good that we have wonderful conditions in Morocco to train, to prepare. I hope that we’ll have Ighalo and Noble who replaces Uzoho who cannot make it.

“We hope that everything will go well without any injuries. The match will be on Saturday afternoon in good condition.

“With this good weather and wonderful pitch we have in this stadium in Tangier. We had a good feeling with the players.

“We have to be careful with the injuries but everything went well. They had good shape, and scored some good goals also.”
