Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel explains how he changed tactics in Tottenham game

"In the first half, we played 4-4-2 when we had the ball as there were no five players left to play a back five after Thiago Silva was ruled out," Thomas Tuchel told Sky Sports after the Tottenham win.

"We took the chance to inform the team that maybe this was the solution for today.

"We took some minutes on the training field to work through the principles and I felt the team was very focused on that to do it right and we had some moments in defending when we created a back five.

"The team were very open-minded and we didn't concede too many chances against them."

Hakim Ziyech played a key role in Chelsea's tactical shifts tonight as he was the player who dropped back to form a back five when the Blues were out of possession.

Clearly, Tottenham were not prepared for such an approach, as Chelsea played them out of the park in the first half.
