Ronaldo receives Globe Soccer's Top Scorer of All Time award at Dubai Expo 2020

Cristiano Ronaldo picked up the Globe Soccer's Top Scorer of All Time award at Dubai Expo 2020 on Friday afternoon.

Ronaldo has scored a total of 801 goals during his career so far - having found the back of the net for Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Portugal.

As a result, Ronaldo was handed the award at the Expo 2020 Dubai Al Wasl Plaza after reaching the landmark following his return to Old Trafford.

Ronaldo is spending the international break in Dubai with his family and was seen celebrating Georgina Rodriguez’s birthday at the World’s tallest building Burj Khalifa.

The footballer spent thousands of pounds to light up the Dubai skyline with a 'happy birthday' message to his partner.

The landmark tower changed colour before ending with the message 'Happy Birthday Geo' in giant white letters above a photo of the stunning Spaniard in a glamorous off-the-shoulder black dress.

Ronaldo's partner took to Instagram to share the footage, saying: 'This is how this exciting day ends. I'm speechless. Thank you, thank you and thank you @cristiano. You can't make me happier every day.'

Ronaldo - who has been struggling with a thigh problem - will be looking to use his time abroad to rest and recover.

The Portuguese forward was forced to stop training ahead of Manchester United's clash with Aston Villa due to the injury.

The 36-year-old was checked over by the club's medical team before being sent back home to take it easy.

Ronaldo is never one to take it easy - having previously revealed how he stays behind after training to work on his skills.

The striker even expressed his confusion as to why more Manchester United players do not do the same.

‘If I give you advice, even if you are younger than me, if you don’t implant that during your daily life, it will be difficult,’ he said. ‘I will be the No 1 to help. But if you don’t want my help, do your job, look for yourself, do your best to help the team.

‘I can speak all day with that person but if it’s not coming from inside of you, it’s impossible. When I was 18, 19, 20, some older players spoke with me, but I put that as, “Cristiano, you have to improve”.
