Abramovich allowed to invest £30m in Chelsea to keep club alive

According to The Times, the UK government has permitted Roman Abramovich to inject £30m into Chelsea to keep the club afloat.

The ruling comes despite the sanctions imposed on the Russian billionaire by the UK government.

Chelsea are stripped of most of their income as they operate under a restrictive licence.

The government has now let them sell tickets to the FA Cup and Champions League games but the revenue will go to the victims of war in Ukraine, not to the club itself.

The Blues find themselves in an unstable financial position as the sale process is dragging on.
