Joan Laporta breaks silence over Araujo-Gavi contract saga

Mundo Deportivo asked president Joan Laporta to comment on the contract stalemate involving Pablo Gavi and Ronald Araujo.

"Well, this is on the right track," Laporta said.

Yes, they are players that we want to continue, within these salary levels that we are establishing. 

"We would like them to continue for many years.

"The negotiations are underway and everything is going perfectly normally with Araujo and Gavi," the Barca chief added.

The contracts of both Gavi and Araujo runs out in the summer of 2023 and must be renewed quickly for Barca to avoid losing them for free.

However, both players are demanding a higher salary, compared to the peanuts they currently earn.
