No Messi comeback and 3 more hints Laporta drops in fresh interview

Joan Laporta addresses the transfer topic more often than usual these days.

We've noticed him repeat certain phrases several times already. Let's list them all.

1. No player shall be bigger than the club
This is what Laporta said after Barcelona parted ways with Lionel Messi in the summer – and he keeps repeating that all the time.

This could well mean that we should not expect Leo to come back any time soon. Besides, the club could give up on signing a star player like Erling Haaland, preferring to build a team without a clear leader instead.

2. Strengthening each line is key
Barca's supposed priority is to reinforce every line with a few quality players.

The Catalans reportedly have signed contracts with Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie ahead of the summer transfer campaign. A few other defenders and attackers are expected to join the team later.

3. Barca won't spend huge money on players
The club will not lose their heads in the race for world-class signings, Laporta claims.

If a player like Erling Haaland demands some hefty wages in his Blaugrana contract, the club will most likely give up on signing him.

4. Fitting into Barca's style of play is necessary
No more random signings!

Every new Barca player should be able to fit into Xavi's system – this is what the club would thoroughly analyse before landing this or that player.
