Liverpool vs Villarreal UEFA Champions League preview and Head to Head Records

Liverpool will do battle with Villarreal on Wednesday for a spot in the European Champions League final at Anfield.

The Reds have been on hot form in recent weeks and are strong favourites to progress to Cl final. Meanwhile, Villarreal against all odds has been able to progress despite parading the underdog tag. This game will be a major test for Klopp's men as they know how dangerous the Spanish side can be if let on a free ride.

Liverpool Close to Historic Quadruple
Having won the Carling Cup, qualified for the FA Cup final scheduled on May 14 against Chelsea, being a point off Manchester City in the top spot in the Premier League, and playing for a place in the Champions League final, Liverpool is certainly on the course for a historic Quadruple.

However, this match might prove to be the trickiest of all for the reds who have eliminated the Portuguese side, Benefica on a 6-4 goal aggregate. The new boy, Luis Diaz have been an important part of Liverpool's marching success and the South American so far, have been able to bond well with the likes of Mohammed Salah, Diego Jota, and Sadio Mane Upfront.

Thiago Alcantara has recently pulled beautiful strings of football to the delight of Klopp who more than anyone, knows how much of him was missed due to injuries. Nevertheless, Klopp expect all hands to be on deck as underestimation at this stage might prove fatal.

Villarreal: From Underdogs to Champions League Semi-Finalist
Villarreal have been amazing in this year's Champions League and their elimination of Bayern Munich in the Quarter-Finals could mean that the Club can create History. Unai Emery, who is the current coach of the Spanish side have qualified for the Semi-Finals of the Champions League for the first time in his managerial career.

Thanks to the key goals from the Nigerian striker Samuel Chukweze, who scored in both legs against Bayern Munich, Villarreal are two games away from participating in their first Final of the competition. They travel to face Liverpool at Anfield having won domestic rivals Valencia during the weekend by 2-0 with Arnaut Danjuma scoring a brace to seal all three points.

Nevertheless, defeating an in-form Liverpool will surely be difficult for Unai Emery who dreams of making history with Villarreal.

Liverpool Team News
The Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has no injury concerns going into the match. The likes of Mohammed Salah, Diego Jota or Luis Diaz, and Sadio Mane are expected to lead the front lines while the excellent Thiago Alcantara is expected to coordinate the midfield area.

Villarreal Team News
Villarreal will head into the game with a major injury concern with the Spanish Playmaker Alberto Moreno suffering from
Cruciate Ligament Rupture thus won't feature in the game.

Villarreal manager Unai Emery will be hoping for the likes of Daniel Parejo and Manu Trigueros to pull the strings in Midfield.

Yéremi Pino is expected to lead the attack and it won't be a surprise if Emery decide to start Samuel Chukweze once again from bench as it has proved dividends, especially against Bayern Munich.
