Rating the 11 players Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signed for Man United and how they are doing now

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had some highs and lows during this three-year spell as manager of Manchester United.

He signed a few big names and a couple of talented youngsters to reshape the squad but in 2021/22, we're playing worse than we did before.

Here's a look at the players he signed and how they're faring at the moment -

Harry Maguire

Topsy-turvy at best, can have one good game and then make the silliest errors for the next few ones. Definitely not worth £80 million.

He's still the captain and continues to play regularly but the jury is still out on whether he's the right centre-back to lead us to glory.

Rating - 5/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Again, erratic and inconsistent. Can defend like nobody's business on a good day but is often caught out of position and struggles to provide much while going forward. Was recently benched by Diogo Dalot, which says a lot.

Rating - 4/10

Donny van de Beek

Failed to get game time under Solskjaer himself followed by Michael Carrick and Ralf Rangnick. Can't seem to get going at Everton on loan either.

Rating - 2/10

Amad Diallo

Why did we spend £37 million on him? He's not started a game for Rangers on loan in two months now.

Rating - 1/10

Facundo Pellistri

Again, why did we sign him? Granted, we spent £9 million on him which is not a lot compared to the others on the list.

Not being able to start for a bottom side like Alaves in La Liga is concerning.

Rating - 1/10

Daniel James

The winger is currently part of Leeds and at United, he did have his moments. He's scored some important goals for us and was part of some of our biggest triumphs under Ole. But he too lacked consistency and his decision-making in the final third was poor.

Rating - 4/10

Odion Ighalo

It was good while Ighalo was here, we all enjoyed his Instagram posts and admired him for his humility. But as a player, what did he contribute?

He only made 12 appearances across competitions in the time he spent at Old Trafford.

Rating - 2/10

Jadon Sancho

Everyone and their dogs wanted United to sign Sancho. It's too bad that when we did, the Englishman struggled to keep up his form.

In 2021/22, he has fared decently under Rangnick but still has a long way to go to justify his £73 million price tag.

Rating - 4/10

Raphael Varane

Champions League experience, winning mentality - what could go wrong?

Well, Varane's biggest problem is his physique. He easily picks up injuries and that makes it tough to rely on him consistently. But he's certainly one of the better signings made by Ole.

Rating - 6/10

Cristiano Ronaldo

The 37-year-old is a powerhouse and as much as we'd all like to think otherwise, Ronaldo is growing older.

Getting him on massive wages on a two-year deal was perhaps not the best move as it's likely he will move on for free once that's over.

He's our highest scorer this season with 18 goals across competitions but that's hardly average for Ronaldo's own standards.

Rating - 7/10

Bruno Fernandes

Probably the best signing Ole ever made, Bruno made a thunderous impact right after joining. He always makes it a point to deliver on the pitch, regardless of the situation.

A real leader, Bruno has contributed with vital goals and assists. His impact hasn't been as sharp this season but he's still our most creative outlet.

He does have issues with making wayward passes and can let his emotions get the better of him. But he more than makes up for it with his sublime play and goals.
