Revealed: When Man United could confirm Erik ten Hag appointment

According to the BBC's Simon Stone, a tier-one source, Manchester United are 'on the brink' of confirming Erik ten Hag as the new manager.

United have maintained there is no deal in place just yet but top sources across the Netherlands and England have confirmed both parties have reached an agreement.

The BBC understands that United intend on laying low out of respect for Ten Hag and Ajax, who play PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Cup final on Sunday.

However, an official confirmation can be expected in the week ahead, meaning the announcement is very close.

United are offering Ten Hag a three-year contract with the option to extend it for another year.
