Xavi provides key update on Gavi, Araujo and Dembele contract situation

Speaking in his press conference ahead of the game against Sevilla, Xavi said: “Gavi and Araujo are very important to us for the future. Barca cannot allow them to leave.

"I am positive and I want to think that the two will renew their contracts.”

Xavi also commented on the contract situation of Ousmane Dembele.

“I see Dembele very happy and involved in the project. It depends on him, on the club.

"He is a high-level footballer. Well worked on how he can make a difference and possibly the best in the world in his position."

The contract saga of Araujo and Gavi have lingered since January with Barca failing to make a breakthrough.

As for Dembele, he's most-likely leaving Barca as a free agent at the end of the season if he doesn't sign a new deal.
