" I will be out if they lied": Recalling what Pep Guardiola said about Man City's integrity amid alleged financial breach
Pep Guardiola last year promised to walk away from Man City should the club get into trouble over financial breaches.
"‘If they lie to me, the day after I am not here. I will be out, and I will not be their friend anymore," he said.
"I put my faith in them because I believe them 100% from day one and I defend the club because of that."
The Premier League has set up an independent commission investigate a series of alleged breaches of financial rules by Manchester City.
The allegations against City include not having provided accurate financial information regarding "its revenue (including sponsorship revenue), its related parties and its operating costs."
Guardiola is City's most successful manager. The Spaniard has won a total of 11 trophies including four Premier League titles.
