Son Heung-Min Follows Strict Rule Set by Father: No Marriage Until Retirement
Tottenham Hotspur's captain, Heung-Min Son, follows a strict rule when it comes to marriage, which is influenced by his father. Son's dad, Son Woong-jung, a former professional player, is known for his tough love and demanding nature. He used to make young Son do four-hour keepy-uppy sessions to develop his skills.
Additionally, he has consistently urged his son to strive for more and has even refuted claims that Son is world-class, pushing him to achieve greater heights. However, one of his most notable beliefs is that Son should not consider marriage until he has retired from football.
According to his father, Son's career should be his top priority, and Son appears to share this perspective.
In the interview with The Guardian, Son said: "My father says this and I agree, as well
"When you marry, the number one will be family, wife and kids, and then football. I want to make sure that while I play at the top level, football can be number one. You don't know how long you can play at the top level.
"When you retire, or when you are 33 or 34, you can still have a long life with your family."
Son has been in relationships with Korean celebrities Bang Min-ah and Yoo So-young in the past. He officially confirmed his relationship with Yoo So-young in November 2015.
However, their relationship didn't last, and they eventually broke up in 2016. Interestingly, So-young admitted that she wasn't initially aware of who Son was when they began dating, as her knowledge of football wasn't very sharp.
