Roberto rejoins Barca training following death of his mother

Sergi Roberto returned to Barcelona training on Monday evening having had permission to miss several sessions following the death of his mother during the Christmas period.

The midfielder missed the first session back on Sunday and Monday morning's workout after Maria Rosa Carnicer passed away on Saturday.

Barca had a double session on Monday, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, with Sergi Roberto returning for the latter ahead of Saturday's derby against Espanyol.

In addition to Sergi Roberto, Valverde called up B team players: Iñaki Peña, Guillem, Jandro, Monchu, Collado, Riqui Puig, Abel Ruiz and Marqués, inn addition to regulars Carles Pérez and Ansu Fati.
