Guardiola: Liverpool's 22-point lead is embarrassing for all the PL managers

Pep Guardiola has shrugged off a suggestion that Liverpool's 22-point lead is embarrassing for him and the rest of the Premier League managers.

Guardiola steered clear of any such grumbles this time, and when asked if the situation is both unhealthy and embarrassing, he replied: “It is what it is. It is difficult in the modern game and specific circumstances, for the amount of games, it always was tight.

“Two seasons ago we did something incredible and Liverpool are doing it right now.

“So Liverpool will try to do the next season what we tried do to in the previous season and this season as well. The rest of the people are trying to reduce this gap.

“The desire of the big tournaments like the Premier League, broadcasters, such as TVs or whatever…it depends on the teams - the managers and the players especially, how it is going on.

“It is not them that dictate it. Before that it was so equal, that is true, now the tendency has changed a little bit. Now a team clearly dominates for one season.

“It depends on Liverpool and the other teams what happens in the future.”
