Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City vie for Celtic centre-back

Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are vying for the services of Celtic centre-back Kristoffer Ajer as they aim to sign him at the end of the current campaign.

According to the report in Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid is willing to sign the Celtic defender who they hope to pair with Raphael Varane, Ajer is expected to leave the club when his contract expires.

Los Blancos is faced with competition from fellow European heavyweights for the services of of the 6’5″ Norwegian, Paris Saint-Germain want a replacement for Thiago Silva who is on the radar of Barcelona while the likes of Manchester City and Leicester City FC are two other clubs that could make a move for the 22-year-old according to the report.

Real Madrid signed Eder Militao from FC Porto last summer and he is expected to take over from Sergio Ramos and pair Varane in the heart of the defence.

Manchester City is still in search of a centre back who can replace former captain Vincent Kompany who left the club at the end of the previous season.

John Stones and Aymeric Laporte’s campaign was hampered by injury and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola does not want to take chances going into the next season.
