JUST IN: Super Falcons striker quits Spanish club after six months at the club

Super Falcons striker Uchenna Kanu leaves Sevilla after six months at the Spanish team, according to the club official website.

The 23-year-old Nigeria international joined the Primera DivisiĆ³n (women) side in January 2020 and went on to make four appearances in the league, including two starts.

Kanu and seven other players namely Jeni Morilla, Aldana Cometti, Yanara Aedo, Sabrina Flores, Claire Falknor, Nadya Karpova, and Olga Carmona have not been retained by Las Rojiblancas for the 2020-2021 season.

The Super Falcons was part of Nigeria squad to the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, she has already agreed a deal with Swedish Damallsvenskan side Linkopings FC.
Before her move to Spain, she played in the United States of America, where she scored over 100 goals for Southeastern Fire.

Kanu was Nigeria’s top scorer at the 2014 U17 Women’s World Cup with three goals and was promoted to the U20 squad ahead of the World Cup in Canada that same year

Former United States youth-teamer of Nigerian descent Toni Payne remains on the books of Sevilla for the time being.
