London club Arsenal interested in Thomas Partey

Arsenal in pole position to sign 26-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey after his impressive form at Atletico Madrid.

The London club has made Partey their ‘priority objective and the Ghanaian international has a €50m buyout clause, which for a footballer of his quality and projection is shamefully low.

Arsenal have long needed a ‘Patrick Vieira’ type player, someone who can shuttle from box to box from first to last, who has an eye for goal but who is also an excellent competitor in the middle of the park. Thomas ticks all of those boxes, and so it’s perfectly understandable why the Gunners would be interested in his services.

They’ll likely need to move quickly to get him to sign on the dotted line, however, because there is sure to be a queue of teams lining up to take someone with his type of talent and at a price, he is available for.

With the PL’s Project Restart on the horizon, there are only a few matches before the summer transfer window kicks in. To that end, Gunners have already identified their priority signing.
