Wenger Finally Responds To Calls For Him To Become Arsenal’s New Chairman

Wenger Become Arsenal's New Chairman
Arsene Wenger has spoken up on calls for him to become Arsenal’s new chairman.

Sir Chips Keswick’s departure in May after seven years at the helm of the club has left a rather large hole to fill in Arsenal’s board, of which he had been a member of since 2005.

Gunners legend Martin Keown claimed following the announcement that Wenger was the ‘perfect answer’ to replace Sir Chips as chairman at the Emirates.

“Sir Chips is somebody who had been there for 15 years, took over from Peter Hill-Wood, so I think the club have been respectful with the work he’s done there,” he told talkSPORT.

“It would be something special to see Arsene Wenger come onto the board.

“So I would applaud that if Arsenal Football Club were to bring Arsene Wenger onto the board.”
However, in an interview with beINSPORTS, Wenger confirmed he is not planning to replace Sir Chips.

“The candidate says there is no candidate,” he said in response to a question about whether he would consider taking the role.

Wenger last year took up a position with FIFA as their chief of global football development.
