Arsenal still an attractive club to other players : Mikel Arteta

Arteta says he doesn't want to bring in players, who need to be convinced to join Arsenal.

Arsenal manager insists players still want to join the Gunners because of the club's history and values.

“I don’t think we should bring players that need a lot of convincing,” Mikel Arteta told The Guardian.

“The feeling I get when I talk to a lot of people is that the players still want to come to the club because of the history, the way we do things, our values, the fans we have, our stadium. That’s a really attractive thing, that’s my feeling.”

The transfer window will be open from July 27 to October 5, which will be followed by a short domestic window, mainly designed for loan deals.

According to media reports, Arsenal are aiming to strengthen several positions but our spending power is likely to depend on the season finish. The boss hopes to win the FA Cup to get more money to spend in the summer.

At the moment, the Gunners are working on the extension of Dani Ceballos loan deal. Real Madrid reportedly prefer to sell the midfielder for around €20-25m.

Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey, who has a €50m release clause in his contract, is said to be a transfer priority for Arteta in the summer.

As for centre-backs, Arsenal have been long linked with Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano. However, the Gunners could be scared off by the €60m asking price. Then, the club might consider cheaper options with Reims' Axel Disasi mentioned as an alternative in particular, who should be available at €15m.
