Barcelona set to renew Nelson Semedo contract until 2025

Barcelona and Semedo has embark on new contract negotiations with the player impressive form since the restart of the league.

The Portuguese is expected to sign a new contract until 2025 after his agent's unsuccessful attempts to sell him.

Barcelona and Nelson Semedo's powerful agent Jorge Mendes have resumed the contract negotiations, Mundo Deportivo reveal.

The Catalans are planning to tie the Portuguese down until 2025, also improving his salary and rising the €100m release clause.

Before that, the full-back was one of the main candidates to leave the club with Manchester City, Inter and Juventus labelled as his suitors.

However, Mendes' attempts to sell his client haven't been successful and Semedo's future has changed completely.

The 26-year-old has started in Barca's last seven league games, winning a crucial penalty in the 2-2 Atletico Madrid draw.
