Chelsea midfielder Jorginho responds to exit rumours

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has responded to the exit rumours linking him away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

The report in Italy claims that his former manager Maurizio Sarri is interested in his services at Juventus having worked with the Italian tactician at Napoli and Chelsea in recent seasons.

Jorginho played down the possibility of his return to Serie A under Sarri this summer.
“There have been rumours but I haven’t heard anything,” Jorginho told Chelsea website.

“I am just focusing on finishing the season well with Chelsea and qualifying for the Champions League.

“I just have to stay focused on when the teams need me.”

Jorginho being overlooked since the season resumed has fuelled speculation that he is likely to be sold when the transfer window reopens.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard might have seen enough of the Brazil-born Italian, the midfielder was brought on when Chelsea was under late pressure at Selhurst Park, where they held on to a 3-2 win.

Lampard opted to start with youngster Billy Gilmour rather than Jorginho against Crystal Palace.
