REPORT: Chelsea defender hands wants out of Stamford Bridge this summer

Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri has handed in a transfer order as the Italian wants to boost his chances of making Euro 2021 squad, according to report.

Emerson has been surplus to requirement at Chelsea under manager Frank Lampard but the likes of Inter Milan and Juventus are interested in his service.

Lampard wants to invest in the left-back position at Chelsea and he is prepared to ship out Emerson and Marco Alonso this summer.

The manager has set sight on Leicester City Ben Chilwell as a possible replacement, but the Foxes are likely to demand a huge transfer fee from Chelsea and the Blues could as well explore other options.

Chelsea has been busy in the transfer market lately having captured the signature of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and RB Leipzig attacker Timo Werner, the Blues want to sell to raise fund to finance the move for their preferred targets.

A decent sum for Palmieri would go some way to helping finance a swoop for Chilwell.
And Italian football journalist Nicolo Schira claims Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has set a £22.5million asking price after Palmieri allegedly made clear his intent to leave.

“Emerson Palmieri has handed in a transfer request to Chelsea,” Schira wrote on Twitter.

“The left-fullback wants to return to Italy to keep his spot in the Azzurri EURO2021 squad.
“Marina Granovskaia wants €25m.

“Talks ongoing between Inter & Emerson’s agents who is also liked by Juve coach Sarri.”

Chelsea forked out an initial €20m (£18m) to bring Palmieri to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2018 but he has struggled to nail down a regular role in the team.

Chelsea is willing to listen to offers for likes of Alonso, Michy Batshuayi, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater this summer.

Chelsea is also keen on signing Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Kai Havertz.
