Amount Villarreal paid to Madrid for Kubo’s loan deal has been revealed

The Yellow Submarines were willing to pay decent money to snatch away Kubo from other suitors.

Villarreal has paid Real Madrid €2.5m for signing Takefusa Kubo on loan for the next season, according to AS.

The report suggests that the fee could potentially double to €5m if the Japanese winger manages to meet all performance-related bonuses and if he guides Villarreal to a successful season.

Bayern Munich is also said to have been willing to pay a higher fee than what Villarreal did to loan Kubo, but Madrid preferred him to stay in La Liga.

The Japanese winger has already started to dazzle his new teammates in training and will be a focal point of the Yellow Submarines’ attack next season.

Kubo had a pretty good season with Mallorca last time, scoring 4 goals and picking up 5 assists in the league.
