Arsenal and Aubameyang close to Agreeing on new 3-year deal

The new deal is worth in excess of £250,000-a-week basic salary plus bonuses and will run until 2023.

The contract will cover the final 12 months on the existing deal and extend it by further 2 years.

The striker has received assurances from the board that the squad will be strengthened with new signings.

According to the Telegraph, the Gunners 'believe' they are on the verge of tying down Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to a new long-term deal worth in excess of £250,000 per week plus lucrative bonuses.

The report says it will be a 3-year offer lasting until 2023. Auba's present contract runs until 2021, which means a new deal will cover the final 12 months on the existing contract extending it by further 2 years.

The newspaper also says the striker was convinced by the hierarchy after a conversation they had earlier. They assured Auba that Mikel Arteta would be allowed to beef up his squad in the market significantly to challenge for the top four.

The Gabonese will be the second-highest earner in the club's history with only Mesut Ozil pocketing more.

Earlier, Arteta said he's sure that the striker would eventually sign a new deal.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal's coaching staff are impressed with the 31-year-old's fitness and attitude and feel that the attacker will retain his fabulous form and won't drop his standards if he signs a renewal.
