Aston Villa are contact with Chelsea to bring back Tammy Abraham

Tammy Abraham will face increased competition at Chelsea but is keen to prove his worth.

Aston Villa have asked about the availability of Tammy Abraham, according to the Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a year on loan at Villa Park, scoring 26 goals in the 2018/19 season to help them win promotion to the Premier League.

Since then, he's established himself as a first-team regular with Chelsea, finishing as their top goalscorer with 16 goals in the last campaign.

Despite the arrival of Timo Werner and resurgence of Olivier Giroud, Abraham backs himself to remain an important part of Frank Lampard's plans.

This is why, as per the source, Villa's approach is expected to fail as they're already looking at alternative ways to find a No.9.

Meanwhile, Tammy is understood to be self-isolating at the moment due to the coronavirus concerns although he's feeling good and is likely to join the England squad next week.
